With over 40 years of experience in the industrial crating business, we’ve gained insights and expertise to help our clients succeed.
As we begin the fifth decade of our history one thing has remained the same: we strive to provide reliable, efficient and effective industrial packaging solutions to manufacturers around the country, making us one of the most trusted industrial packaging specialists in the Southeast.
Founding in 1982
Reid Packaging began as a family business when Peter Reid founded the business in 1982 at a workshop in the North Atlanta area. And though the business has changed hands since it was founded, the family is still involved in the everyday functioning of the business. Bill Reid, son of the founder, is a senior sales executive at the company today – managing accounts with the same high level of service that his dad did.
New Ownership in 2008
In 2008, Ward Phillips and his wife Anne Phillips purchased the business. While their leadership brought new energy to the business, many employees and salespersons stayed on, providing a gentle continuity to a strong business. In 2012, they moved into a larger, 60,000 square-foot facility, enabling them to increase production capacity and to increase redundancy in their machinery so as to ensure reliability and consistent turnaround times.
Experience Matters
From the very large to the very small, from volumes of 10,000 to one, Reid has expertise in the design, testing, and production of complete packaging kits for delicate and expensive equipment as well as very large and very heavy machinery. The design team totals over 55 years of experience in the packaging industry and includes two certified military packaging specialists, as well as experts in export packaging, CAD design, and moisture control.
Over our four decades (and counting) of experience making custom crates and corrugated boxes, Reid Packaging has encountered every challenge imaginable, and has found cost-effective, safe, and reliable solutions to them all. That’s why we’ve become the industrial packagers that manufacturers around the country turn to when they need custom crates and boxes.
