Factory Relocations
When factories are relocating, retooling, or closing, it’s crucial to work with riggers and craters that understand the details involved in safely and effectively moving and storing machinery.
REID PACKAGING has the experience and capacity necessary to relocate entire factory production lines.
When factories are relocating, retooling, or closing, it’s crucial to work with riggers and craters that understand the details involved in safely and effectively moving and storing machinery.
In 2012, we had the honor of crating Lockheed Martin’s entire F-22 RAPTOR assembly line, located in two plants – one in Marietta, GA and the other in Meridien, MS. That job was a big challenge in terms of scale. We had a dedicated production team, under the direct supervision of an owner, working around the clock to produce hundreds of crates over the months that it took to safely package this project.
Experience with Large, Complex Relocation Jobs
With that experience and many others since, we’ve come to understand how to effectively and accurately quote a factory relocation job. Many companies may claim to do the work quicker or more cheaply. We will do it accurately, safely, and efficiently. When it comes to machinery worth millions of dollars, we think that’s a better approach.
Factory relocations also require a lot of collaboration—with riggers and millwrights on-site, with the freight company responsible for moving the items and with the facility that is receiving or storing the items. We understand what questions need to be asked in order for everyone to efficiently do their job, making sure that the valuable machinery is safely packaged, transported and received.
